Bruno Mars Says VMA Win Would Be 'Coolest Thing Ever'

Bruno Mars' heartfelt clip for "Grenade" is up for three Moonmen at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards: Video of the Year, Best Male Video and Best Pop Video. He's obviously very excited by these three nods, but it's his fourth that really gets "The Lazy Song" singer going.

He can't wait to see if he can beat out Beyoncé ("Run the World (Girls)"), Britney Spears ("Till the World Ends"), Lady Gaga ("Judas") and LMFAO ("Party Rock Anthem") for Best Choreography for his track about just wanting to stay home and chill out.

"You know what I'm excited for? As much as I put blood, sweat and tears into 'Grenade,' I'm excited for 'The Lazy Song,' Best Choreography," he dished to MTV News. "That is amazing."

In the video, Bruno is captured hanging out at home, dancing around his living room and monkeying around with a few, well, monkeys. "I called up my friends the Poreotics [from 'America's Best Dance Crew'] and we shot this and choreographed this in one day," he recalled of the fun video. "And I think that would be the coolest thing ever if I went home and saw a Moonman that said: Best Choreography, Bruno Mars, 'The Lazy Song.' "

As silly and ironic as it seems for the singer to win the award for that track, he did put a lot of the same "blood, sweat and tears" into it as he did for "Grenade." "We worked really hard on it, and we wanted to give people something to laugh at and show personality in the song and what we're talking about," he said. " 'The Lazy Song' is not necessarily the song you want to hear in the club, but we put our monkey dance to it."

The 28th annual will air live on Sunday, August 28, from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT. See the list of nominees, revisit last year's highlights and vote for your favorites in the general categories by visiting VMA.MTV.com.

Britney Spears Having 'A Blast' On Femme Fatale Tour

'The crowds have been so good each night and that gives you the adrenaline you need,' Brit tells MTV News.

Britney Spears

Britney Spears is currently in the midst of her Femme Fatale Tour. And now that the pop princess has shaken off all those pre-tour nerves, she's been giving fans a dance-heavy spectacle that some have called her "flashiest" yet.

When MTV News recently caught up with Spears, she opened up about life on the road.

"Good, really good," Spears said of how things are going on her seventh concert tour. "It's like every other day we have another show, so we are really busy. It's a lot of fun. I like being busy."

Spears — who is nominated for Best Pop Video and Best Choreography at the 2011 Video Music Awards — gave credit to her fans for making each show so memorable.

"The shows have been equally amazing," Spears said. "The crowds have been so good each night and that gives you the adrenaline you need to get through the show. It just pumps you up. Every night is a blast."

And before Brit hits the stage each night, she and her dancers always get together for a pre-show ritual. "We always say a prayer before the show; sometimes a really long prayer, sometimes a short prayer. We just do it; we grab each other's hands and go do it."

On Monday, the Femme Fatale Tour added another opening act: "Jersey Shore" star DJ Pauly D confirmed he'll be hitting the road to open for Spears on six of her August dates. "Yes, that's interesting!" Spears gushed about Pauly D joining opening acts Nicki Minaj, Jessie and the Toy Boys, and Nervo.

So will Spears tune into the upcoming season of "Jersey Shore"?

"It's a guilty pleasure," she admitted. "I've seen two or three episodes; it's cool."

Will you catch Britney on tour this summer? Tell us in the comments!

Linda Evangelista Asks Salma Hayek's Husband for Child Support

Linda Evangelista Asks Salma Hayek's Husband for Child Support

Single mom Linda Evangelista hasn't asked for a dime from her 3-year-old son's billionaire father -- but now, she's making up for lost time! According to the N.Y. Post, he 46-year-old supermodel visited Manhattan Family Court on Tuesday to demand $46,000 a month in child support from ex-boyfriend Francois Henri-Pinault.

Pinault, a 49-year-old French luxury-goods CEO, fathered baby Augustin with Evangelista in 2006, as the world learned last month. During his fling with Evangelista, he was temporarily split from then-girlfriend Salma Hayek, 44, who is now his wife and the mother of his 3-year-old daughter Valentina. So it's a sticky situation all around. Still, it's surprising that super-wealthy Pinault hasn't provided any child support to Evangelista.

"He's just been sitting back, paying zero," Evangelista's lawyer told the judge yesterday.

Evangelista's five-figure child support request -- "probably the largest support order in the history of the Family Court," noted the judge -- accounts for a live-in nanny ($80,000 a year) and a team of gun-carrying drivers who are also retired police detectives ($175,000 a year). She also sought $7,500 a month for "vacation" expenses, which the judge rejected -- but he said that the other expenses make sense, in light of Evangelista's demanding work schedule and the child's high-risk position as a billionaire's son.

But Pinault doesn't seem to agree. His lawyers fought Evangelista's demands at the hearing, arguing that she makes enough money to cover her child's expenses.

"She testified that she wants to have a 24-hour nanny because she does not want to be alone with the child," said Pinault's lawyer. "Miss Evangelista, you should understand, has a worth of more than $8 million, and she earned, last year, $1.8 million."

In fact, the model testified that she needs a nanny because she spends so much time working and traveling. "On days when I do not work, I am working on my image," she testified. "I have to hit the gym. I have beauty appointments. I have to work toward my next job and maintaining my image, just like an athlete. When I work, it can be a 16-hour day."

While Evangelista isn't poor, Pinault's family is worth an estimated $11.5 billion -- which makes the child support request seem comparatively reasonable. Besides, he doesn't seem to have any trouble spending money on his other 3-year-old. For daughter Valentina, Pinault purchased a $12 million estate in Los Angeles, which is being held in trust to the tune of $50,000 a month. Kind of takes "playing house" to a whole other level, no?
